Endeavor Air, a wholly owned regional subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, announced on Tuesday plans to open its sixth crew domicile – Cincinnati (CVG) – in the first quarter of 2020. The domicile will support Endeavor’s dual-class fleet of Bombardier CRJ-900 and CRJ-700 aircraft, initially opening with 40 pilots and 40 flight attendants assigned to grow the base.
In a memo sent to employees, Joe Miller, Chief Operating Officer, stated the decision to open a crew base in Cincinnati is a direct result of growth at Endeavor.
“Today, [Cincinnati] is one of Endeavor’s largest maintenance operations, seeing an average of 14 aircraft per night,” Miller noted in his memo. “As we expand our network footprint, we expect daily departures to increase in the Cincinnati market by approximately 25 percent.”
Miller also stated that this new crew base offers better support to the overall Endeavor network, while increasing flying opportunities and improving schedules for crew members across the system.
Along with opening CVG in Q1 2020, Endeavor plans to increase flying in its Detroit domicile. The airline has also begun taking delivery of the 20 dual-class aircraft that were announced in August, 2019.
