Endeavor Air Proudly Charters Bert’s Big Adventure’s VIP Kids

Endeavor Air was proud to partner with Bert’s Big Adventure (BBA) again this year, helping provide 12 kids and their families with an unforgettable experience.

Established in 2003 by Bert Weiss, host of the nationally syndicated morning radio show, “The Bert Show,” Bert’s Big Adventure provides children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families an all-expenses-paid journey to Walt Disney World. These children truly become VIP kids for the weekend.

Endeavor has served as the official airline partner of BBA since 2018, operating the flights from Atlanta to Orlando and back with these VIP passengers aboard.

“We’re so thankful to be able to charter the Bert’s Big Adventure flight,” said Peggy Wiley, Director, Atlanta Hub Operations at Endeavor Air, who leads the charge for the Endeavor team each year. “This partnership continues to bring myself and the Endeavor team so much joy each year. We feel so fulfilled to have a part in taking these VIP kids from Atlanta to Orlando and back on our airline – one that I know is safe and reliable.”

Before boarding the send-off flight, Endeavor employees and volunteers intermixed with Disney princesses and characters, holding signs and lining the pathway to the gate to give the BBA families a special experience from start to finish.

Lori Nelson, an Inflight instructor based in Minneapolis, Minn., had the opportunity to serve as a flight attendant on this year’s BBA flight. Lori made an appearance on “The Bert Show” as a special guest before the BBA departure to Disney World, speaking to why this flight meant so much to her.

“I have a son who was diagnosed with brain cancer when he was four years old,” Lori said. “He was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, and from that moment, our lives changed dramatically. It was devastating news, and for the next year, we spent most our lives in hospitals and clinics.”

One of the BBA’s children this year currently has medulloblastoma, so for Lori, it was an instant way for her to relate to what these families are going through.

“Thank you for giving us an opportunity to be part of this,” Lori said.

Thank you to the Endeavor team for helping to make BBA 2024 an unforgettable experience for these VIP kids.
