Endeavor Pilots Visit Students to Inspire Future Fliers

When kids think about what they want to be when they grow up, careers like “firefighter”…”teacher”…”doctor”…”veterinarian” are common responses. Recently, two Endeavor Air pilots visited with kindergartners and second graders at California Avenue Elementary School in Uniondale, NY, to talk about aspiring for something higher – becoming a commercial pilot.

The visit was a friendly chat during the school’s Career Day where Captain Jim Bruzgis and First Officer Dean Allon talked about the industry, read stories, and answered questions. The pilots weren’t there to recruit the next generation of Endeavor pilots, but they certainly planted the seeds for future fliers by sharing their experiences.

Endeavor Air First Officer Dean Allon talked about being a pilot with kindergartners from California Avenue Elementary School in Uniondale, NY.

“I was inspired by how excited the classes were to see us in our uniforms,” noted Allon, a JFK-based CRJ-200 First Officer and Assistant Chief Pilot. “We talked about Endeavor, where we fly, the types of planes we operate, and of course, let the kids try on our hats. It was a great day.”
