This week, the Endeavor Air Safety Department recognized two employees for going above and beyond to uphold Endeavor’s high standard of safety. These two team members are the first Safety Team Award Recipients (STARs) in 2017:
Monica Johnston, a MSP-based First Officer, is the first recipient of the Safety Team Award. On March 13, Monica was operating a flight from Minot to MSP. While in the gate area, an elderly male customer began suffering a heart attack. Monica responded immediately and performed CPR on the customer until EMS arrived and took over.
The other recipient of the Safety Team Award is Deb Nadeau, DTW-based Flight Attendant. Deb exemplified the importance of being professional and thorough during potential security issues. Deb recently helped sort out a passenger unattended baggage situation and was also recognized by Amy Jishi, TSA inspector in DTW, for her efforts in maintaining a secure aircraft during multiple tests conducted by the TSA. Jishi said that Deb “continuously demonstrated a great compliance posture, security attitude, and always challenged me during testing.”
Congratulations to Monica and Deb for their dedication to Endeavor’s safety culture! Safety Team Award recipients are recognized for being leaders in safety and uphold our number one priority, “Put Safety First – Always.”
