Endeavor Pilot Makes Pitch to Fellow Service Members to Join Him at Endeavor

At Endeavor, we’re proud to employ hundreds of military veterans. From maintenance technicians to pilots, flight attendants to dispatchers, many of our employees answered the call to defend freedom before – and even currently – joining our ranks.

In August, Steven Schaffner, a CRJ-900 First Officer and 2nd Lieutenant in the North Dakota National Guard, completed his training and hit the line as a pilot at Endeavor. He wanted to share his experience in the hopes it might inspire his fellow service members to consider a career at Endeavor:

“I joined Endeavor Air this summer and have had nothing but the best experience thus far. With Veteran’s Day here, I hope I can reach current or former military members seeking airline employment, especially for pilots.

“Having gone through Initial Qualification, Operational Experience (OE), and reserve at Endeavor into military leave for training, all of the staff at Endeavor have been extremely helpful and accommodating. From the training supervisors and instructors in Ground School, to OE Scheduling, Crew Scheduling, and the Regional Crew Manager in JFK (Denise Flood), my transition back and forth has been very smooth.

“This company has gone above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of.

“Why is this important? Being in the military is demanding, as most people know. Balancing a civilian career while being the military as a Reservist or Guardsman is even more challenging, especially when a Permanent Change of Station [moving for training] is required. Endeavor has kept their promise to support me and my fellow military members. Thank you.”
