Seeing Double

Endeavor Air fraternal twin pilots take identical aviation journey

Their first names both start with ‘C,’ they both rock mustaches, they both live in Cincinnati and they both fly Endeavor CRJs – are they related? Yes. Are they twins? Absolutely.

Christian and Colby Molosz are fraternal twins – and both are Endeavor Air First Officers based in CVG.

“It’s almost like having like a built-in best friend to a certain extent,” Christian said. “Growing up, we always had each other to hang out with. Overall, having a twin has helped us get to where we are today.”

Although Christian and Colby aren’t identical twins, their paths have taken a nearly identical route. Ambitious at a young age, the pair started their own landscaping business while they were in middle school. They used their grandfather’s old lawn mower and started cutting and mulching their neighbors’ yards. The venture expanded to multiple neighborhoods, and eventually to doing 15-20 yards per week.

“We were very fortunate to be so successful with that business, and even had to start turning people away,” Christian said.

Their ambitions changed course when their grandparents took them to the local airport, Pauper Grove Airport, to take a Young Eagles flight. From that point forward, aviation became their pursuit.

“I remember in sports practices I’d always be looking up at airplanes flying over and getting yelled at by coaches to pay attention,” Colby said. “I just loved them.”

Because of their landscape business, the Molosz twins were able to pay for their private pilot licenses before they went off to college. Christian and Colby attended the University of Dubuque, a STEP partner school with Endeavor Air, as their goal was to start their pilot career with the wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta.

“We got our CFIs and mostly all our ratings right around the same time,” Christian said. “As we gained hours, we were constantly in contact with Endeavor, and the recruitment team was always so informative and willing to answer our questions; it stuck out to us compared to other regionals.”

Their schedules and hours aligned, and the twins were put in the same Endeavor pilot training class in October 2023.

“We’ve studied together for years, so training together was a perk,” said Colby. “It’s nice to have someone you can always go to if you have questions or if you missed something, before going to a classmate or instructor.”

Almost a year into their career with Endeavor Air, Christian and Colby are also now pilot recruiters. They will be attending college career fairs this fall with the Endeavor team and talking to prospective candidates.

“We wanted to be able to give back and help future employees and pilots of Endeavor get their journey started,” Christian said. “They made it easy for us since day one, so now it’s our turn to do that.”

Christian, standing an inch or two taller than his twin, is also older by a couple of minutes, but Colby has one major advantage.

“I have the seniority at Endeavor over Christian,” Colby remarked. “So that’s all that matters from here on out.”

The two now live in a new city, Cincinnati, and enjoy exploring the area by catching a Reds or Bengals game or finding a new dinner spot.

“I’m excited to continue our journey here and see where life in the airlines takes us,” Christian said.
