JESSICA GRANT – MOTHER & JOE GRANT – SON

“He was looking for a job. I asked HR what positions were open, and Stores had an opening,” Jessica said. “We do get each other’s emails and shipments since we’re both J/Grant, but I’m glad it all worked out – things all happen for a reason.”
“We’re in two departments that don’t normally get to work together, Stores and Inflight. Because of knowing each other, we’re able to help the other out,” Joe said.
“It takes a special person to be able to work with and in the same company as their mom; I’m very lucky,” Jessica said. “We know how to work well together and can offer to help the other out when needed. Stores has helped me move things to ELC and has always lent helping hands. Joe has been a great resource, especially when I need to contact someone in a different base.”
“You always want your kids to do well, and it’s nice to see how well Joe is doing. It’s so cool that we get to work together – there is a mutual respect. I used to work at Northwest, and when my kids were growing up, they got to see many parts of the industry. We’ve been all over as a family, starting with an easy flight to Chicago before ramping up to places like Cayman, Norway, and Alaska. It’s been great to see Joe catch the travel bug.”
For one part of the Mother’s Day weekend, the Grants will be spending time with Jessica’s mother. On Mother’s Day itself, Joe will be at the Timberwolves game, while Jessica will be watching it from home.
ROBYN MURPHY – MOTHER & MORGAN MURPHY – DAUGHTER

“My mother began at Endeavor first. I was inspired to join the company because of my mother. She really enjoys what she does, and traveling is a big part of her duties which sounded really fun. I also have had the pleasure of tagging along on a couple work trips and met some wonderful people that helped sway me,” Morgan said.
“I love working for the same company because if I have any questions, then I have someone I’m really close to that I can go to for advice who has been here a lot longer than I have,” Morgan said.
“Although we don’t interact in our jobs. It has been fun learning the acronyms and processes in the Tech Ops world especially thru her eyes,” Robyn said. “I have been begging her to get her passport so I can share with her some of my favorite international destinations. Morgan has been flying with me she was 6 weeks old and solo since she was 6. Ironically, when she was 4, she ‘told’ on me to my Mom that she was tired of flying on planes and wanted to be like normal kids and ride on a bus.”
Although I don’t work with my daughter at Endeavor, I am blessed to work with many young aspiring pilots who are her age and share similar interests, slang, music, etc. They know about her and vice versa and have established friendships, especially in social media independent of me. It’s the best of both worlds and makes my heart smile,” Robyn said.
EVELYN CONSTANT – DAUGHTER OF DELTA FLIGHT ATTENDANT

“My mom was a huge reason why I became a flight attendant. My sister and I have been able to see so many places all over the world because of her. We both got bit by the travel bug from an early age. When we turned 16, she took both of us on trips wherever we wanted to go. I chose New Zealand, and it is by far my favorite trip to date. Both my sister and I are flight attendants now. Me with endeavor and her with United!
My favorite advice from her was always taking things as they come. With this job it’s hard to have a concrete plan. Her ability to roll with the punches is something I’m definitely still working on. But I think it’s the best advice she’s given me about this job.
What I admire most about my mom is she makes the most of pretty much anything. We got stranded in Paris when my sister and I were pretty young. Flying stand by will do that to you sometimes. I don’t remember much but we had to take the train through the night to Amsterdam. She doesn’t let changes in plans affect her. I love the way she moves with things out of her control and makes the most of them,” Evelyn Constant.
