It has been 22 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, but we will never forget the day that changed our country, and the aviation industry, in unprecedented ways. We honor the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks, the first responders, and the families affected by the tragedy.
It is also a day to give back. September 11 is a National Day of Service, and Endeavor people participated in volunteer meal pack events in Atlanta, New York City and Minneapolis. These events were organized by 9/11 Day, a nonprofit that organizes the events as a tribute to those killed and injured on 9/11 and to the many brave individuals who rose in service in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The ongoing mission of 9/11 Day is to transform the annual remembrance of 9/11 into a worldwide day of unity and doing good, and to encourage millions of people to remember and pay tribute each 9/11 through the spirit of unity and good deeds that help others and rekindle the extraordinary spirit of togetherness and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy.
In this way, we remember 9/11 in a positive, helpful way, and keep our promise to “Never Forget.”
